None of the new releases have been able to get an opening, nor have they been able to sustain. This condition is expected to continue for the next three weeks.
However, this has not stopped the steady flow of releases, as old movies lying in the cans has been dusted and are getting released. This is the only time that they will get theatrical release, after
which they can be telecast on channels within days with the tagline- Puthan Puthu Mega Hit Padam!

debuting as hero in Ayyan, a village based masala movie, directed by debutant AR Kendiran Munisamy.
The highlight of the film is some melodies by the maestro Ilayaraja. The other Tamil release is Ivor dealing with friendship and directed by newcomer N Priyan.
Three dubbed films are releasing. Prithviraj's Malayalam Anwar without any title change has been dubbed into Tamil. The producers Red Carpet is promoting it aggressively as a straight Tamil film. The other tdubbed films releasing are Trisha-Gopichand-Sathyaraj starrer Sankham, which has been dubbed into Tamil as Sivappusamy and the Hollywood film World Invasion 2011 titled as Azhivin Arambam in Tamil.
