The last Friday of November sees a clash between two Tamil films which have been getting rave reviews on the preview circuit. Today (Nov 30) Bollywood’s most
popular actor at the Chennai box-office, Aamir Khan’s Talaash is also releasing big .
It is a multiplex clash between Seenu Ramasamy’s critically acclaimed Red Giant produced Neerparavai and debutant Balaji’s talked about Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom (NKPK).
Neerparavai has clearly an edge as Seenu Ramasamy is a noted director and the film is being aggressively marketed by Udhayanidhi Stalin. He has managed to get the best of screens with prime shows at ‘plexes.
Meanwhile Aamir Khan whose films traditionally do very well in Chennai from his Lagaan days has his new thriller Talaash opening in 12 screens. There is lot of pressure in multiplexes to get tickets for Talaash, which has been sold out for the weekend.
The other big release of the week is the Telugu Rana-Nayanthara starrer Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum. A lot is riding on this film for Nayan as it is her first release after her comeback to movies.
However all big screens in multiplexes and popular single screens still continue to screen the Diwali smash hit Vijay’s Thuppakki . Ang Lee’s Life of Pi which released last week is also a big hit.
