Neethaane En Ponvasantham is ready

His ambitious film Neethane En Ponvasantham (NEP) is releasing on Dec 14, Friday and Jiiva is a happy man. The actor talks to sify.com and recalls the experiences of working with Gautham Menon and his team in a film that takes him from the usual wine shop roles to a classier coffee shop milieu..

What's the film about?
Its the journey of a boy and girl from the age of 8 to 25, their love, break up, issues etc... it’s something we can all relate to in life.

It’s your first film with Ilayaraja's music. How do feel about that?
I feel very lucky. It is something really big for me! He is a legend who had composed for such big icons of cinema and my getting a film with him is wonderful!

How was it working with Gautham?
He never let the stress of shooting affect his artists. He had a wonderfully positive attitude and I want to work with him again.

Samantha is your heroine. How had the chemistry worked out?
The chemistry has worked very well! She is one artist to whom I am going to send a message saying 'you've really performed great.' She would recite her long dialogues in Tamil and again in Telugu with such ease!

This film shows a very sophisticated Jiiva. Your comments?
Credit goes to my cameraman who has shown me very young and boyish(smiles) Yes, I had done a lot of films around wine shops so I wanted to do something slick and urbane in a coffee shop setting for a change! In fact that's what I told Gautham who had wanted me to do a local character story in the beginning. This film is going to be a very different one from everything else in my career so far.
