One of the most loved romantic films of all times is the 2010 Gautham Menon’s romantic musical Vinnaithaandi Varuvaya popularly known as VTV. The film redefined love in Tamil cinema and was also a super hit.
What worked big time for the film was the crackling on screen romance between Silambarasan and Trisha along with great music by AR Rahman. In addition, Gautham’s packaging and Manoj Paramahamsa’s camera and editing by Anthony went a long way in making the film a hit.
For the last one year, Gautham and STR were trying to make a sequel to this feel good rainbow romantic film. Now as per our sources, the duo is back soon and VTV 2 is in the final stages of negotiations. Sources also say that a new script is also being worked out by Gautham.
Meanwhile Gautham who was to start a film with with Suriya has put it on the backburner. Suriya, after he completes Singam 2 in March is planning to start a film with Lingusamy as the director, which has left Gautham looking out for another saleable hero.
The grapevine has it that Gautham and STR has been meeting frequently at a popular cafe trying to firm up either a new film or the VTV 2 script. If all goes well, this film is likely to start rolling from January 2013.
