A statement has been issued by Gopuram Films(production/distribution house of financier Anbu Chezhiyan) on the controversial suicide of Ashok Kumar, cousin of producer/actor Sasikumar.

In the press note, Gopuram Films raised questions on the authenticity of the letter. "Was the letter actually written by Ashok Kumar? Ashok is Sasikumar's associate. We only have business dealings with Sasikumar. It was a complete shocker and surprise for us to know that Ashok Kumar, who never had any business relationship with us, mentioned our name and committed suicide".

"We are in the business for more than twenty years. A few people borrow money from us without any proper documents and they assure us that they would make films but in reality, such people only enjoy luxurious life by buying car and bungalow. When asked to repay the loan, they troubled us", added the statement which has the signature of Murali, Manager of Gopuram Films.

Gopuram Films ended their press note saying "Someone is trying to make use of the situation. We are in the industry for two decades and so far there is no complaint against us. From the above-said points, we would like to clarify that there is no truth in the said letter written by Ashok Kumar".
