'2.0' to create a new record in the history of Indian cinema

In a recent interview, maverick filmmaker Shankar has recalled how SA Chandrasekhar’s monthly salary helped him to pursue his passion. After completing diploma in mechanical engineering, Shankar worked in a factory but due to strike, the owners had to shut it down.

Shankar’s dad and mom wanted their son to get a decent job which gives him a monthly salary but the director’s aim is to get into the film industry, he even joined a drama troupe.

Though Shankar’s mom doesn’t know English, she would read dailies and point out the Diploma in Mechanical Engineering job offers and ask him to apply for it. However, Shankar went ahead and joined as an assistant director to SA Chandrasekhar.

“Despite many difficulties, SAC sir would settle my salary within the fifth day of every month. The regular salary from SA Chandrasekhar sir gave confidence to my mom and dad”, said Shankar.

Today, the director has made the costliest film ever made in India and he gets the highest salary among all the filmmakers in the country.
