Sequel spree is just popping up in Sandalwood. Just few days after Mungaru Male-2 was announced, makers of Huchcha-2 have finally announced their cast and crew members.
Though the movie was supposed to take off in August 2013, it has been pushed to next year due to various reasons.
Like Huchcha, Huchcha-2 will also be directed by Omprakaash Rao. Initially it was rumored that Dhananjay of Director’s Special fame will play the lead role. However, latest is that Krishna of Madarangi fame will play the lead role in the film.
Also, Omprakash’s daughter Shravya of Rose fame will play the lead actress in the film. Initially Chikmaglur-based model Vaishali Deepak was chosen to play the lead actress but now, actors Krishna and Shravya have been finalized for the roles.
However, the movie is not a sequel to 2001 blockbuster Huchcha, but a remake of Tamil movie Raam. In fact Huchcha too was also a remake of Tamil movie Sethu.
Tamil movie Raam, which is being remade as Huchcha-2 revolves around the relationship of a mother and her son-the protagonist who suffers from autism. After Dhananjay backed out of the project, Omprakash Rao, finalized Krishna after scrutinizing a couple of new actors.
Krishna, who is known for his role in Madarangi, also has Mumbai, Charlie, Jolly Baru Mattu Poli Geleyaru, Chinna Chinna Aase, lined up for release. The actor is quite excited about the Omprakash Rao project. Krishna is also playing a cameo in Chiranjeevi Sarja-Radhika Kumaraswamy starrer Rudratandava.
Shravya, on the other hand, has four more projects apart from Huchcha-2.
Omprakash Rao, who has stayed away from the media after the casting couch scandal, is expected to call a press meet shortly to announce Huchcha-2.
