Pandemonium prevailed at the theatres screening Mahesh Babu`s latest Dookudu in several parts of Telangana districts.
Though the theatre managements at Parigi, Mahaboobnagar, Samshabad, Tandur, Jaheerabad, Medak and other areas, sought police protection, the presence of a couple of cops could not ontrol the massive agitating crowds for the Telangana state.
Budging to their pressure, the managements had to stop screening the movie.
However, talks are going on between the T-agitators and the theatre management, who also sought the intervention of the TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his daughter Kavitha.
Expecting trouble from the Telangana region, the buyers showed little interest in Nizam area, sources said. A senior distributor observed that with the threat of piracy menace looming large over the film, it might badly loose of its collections in Nizam, known for its potential to rake in almost 40 percent of the revenues of any major release.
Dookudu is made with a swirling budget of Rs 35 Crores, with an expected collection of Rs 100 Crore and above.
In Hyderabad, the theatres screening Dookudu could get sufficient number of police personnel and at the same time the screening was much delayed in many centers in Telangana, while the shows had started from 6.00 am onwards in all other regions, particularly in the Ceded area.
