Director Anurag Kashyap is a happy man with his production venture Peddlers and both parts of Gangs of Wasseypur being showcased at the Cannes International Film Festival.
He was joined by the cast and his wife Kalki Koechlin on the French Riviera.
Kashyap also hosted a party at the Indian pavilion on the Riviera to celebrate the screening of his film, which was attended by members of the international press, film executives and VIPs wearing red gamchchas symbolising the film.
Kashyap said that this is his first commercial film for the masses with songs, romance, drama and revenge.
The movie, which will release in two parts in India, is five hours long and is based on the coal mafia in North India.
Manoj Bajpai, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Huma Qureshi, Richa Chadda and Reemma Sen play the lead roles in the movie.
The first half of the film will release in India on June 22. Hopefully, the film that is creating waves at Cannes, will do the same in India, too.
