<i>Kanimozhi<i> to release big on Nov 26</i></i>

The petite and pretty Shazahn Padamsee takes her first steps into Kollywood with the Jai starrer Kanimozhi releasing on 26th November.

She is double excited as her debut film in Telugu, Orange is also releasing this Friday worldwide. What are her expectations from the film and what lies in store for her are what we get to know in this quick chat

You had a Bollywood debut with Ranbir Kapoor in Rocket Singh. What made you agree to do a Tamil film?
Yes that's true that I had a dream debut with Rocket Singh. But I always wanted to work in a South films. I had heard so many good things about the industry and I know it's a wonderful experience for any actor. The work culture here is so disciplined. And the Kanimozhi script was wonderful so when producer Sona and Siva approached me I said 'yes' immediately.

Whats your role in the film?
I play a South Indian girl who is very appealing and pretty, yet simple. I wear salwars through the film. She is so beautiful that boys get intimidated talking to her.

How much are you like your screen character in real life?
Oh I am completely opposite of that! ( laughs)

Tell us about your hero Jai?
On the sets, Jai and I got on very well. In fact, he kept me laughing the whole time. I hope that chemistry comes across in the film as well.

Orange in Telugu is also releasing on the same day. How does it feel?
Yes its going to be a very exciting day for me and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I star opposite Ram Charan Teja and it is directed by Bommarillu Bhasker. It's a great feeling to step into two industries at the same time. I am keeping my fingers crossed!

What are your plans for Hindi cinema?
I am doing a film by Madhur Bhandarkar's Dil To Bachcha Hai Ji opposite Ajay Devgn. It's an exciting script again with Ajay playing a mature, divorced man.

How do you plan to balance all three industries?
It all depends on the scripts I get. Of course I am comfy with the Hindi language but I would love to continue to work here if I get good offers.

Have you seen any Tamil films?
Yes I saw Ayan and really liked Surya in it. I also saw Kandasamy and Vikram was great.

Is there any director you would like to work with?
Yes, Mani Ratnam for sure!
