After all the controversy where director Sanal Kumar Sasidharan’s S Durga was removed from the Indian Panorama of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), finally there is reason enough for the Malayali filmmaker to cheer.
He has shared an intimation from the IFFI asking to provide a censored version of S Durga to IFFI, Goa, along with a censor certificate.
IFFI had removed three films, S Durga, Marathi film Nude and Pakistani film Saawan from the list, allegedly following pressure from the I & B Ministry.
Sanal Kumar Sasidharan had approached the Kerala High Court that directed IFFI to show the film.
“Thanks Indian Judiciary for doubtlessly reminding about the power of the one and only sacred book of this country, the Constitution of India!” says the filmmaker.
