'Imaikkaa Nodigal' gets ready

The audio launch Imaikkaa Nodigal happened today at Sathyam Cinemas, Chennai. Speaking at the audio launch, the film’s producer Jayakumar said : "When Ajay Gnanamuthu narrated me the script, we never thought it would become a big budget film. At first Nayanthara’s character was written for a male protagonist but only during the script improvisation, Ajay changed it as a female CBI officer. Nayanthara shown so much involvement that she sent hairstyle and costume references before the shoot".

"For Anurag Kashyap's role, we first approached Gautham Vasudev Menon and he was very exited to play the antagonist but because of his busy schedule, he opted out. Only after watching Akira, we decided to cast Anurag. But I apologize to him for the delay. As we roped on big stars, Ajay advised me to go with small music composer but I wanted Hiphop Adhi as his work in Thani Oruvan was super impressive that I watched the film multiple times for his background music. There is a solid 15 minutes portion in the film for which we approached Vijay Sethupathi, he will stay in the minds of audiences for sure", added Jayakumar.

"The film took two years because the project became bigger but I didn't compromise on the quality ", said the producer who is planning to release the film in July. The makers also screened a brand new theatrical trailer and three songs including a lovely track featuring Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara.

The producer clarified that he planned the audio launch suddenly because Hiphop Tamizha Adhi will be leaving to the US in a few days. Due to the sudden announcement, Nayanthara, Atharvaa and Anurag couldn't attend the audio launch event.

"Imaikkaa Nodigal is an important film for everyone of us. My producer Jayakumar believe the audiences that he didn't compromise on the budget and quality of the film. Though I was apprehensive in committing the film due to my acting career, Ajay Gnanamuthu impressed me with his narration. After Thani Oruvan, this film has given me great scope for rerecording, especially the second half. I worked for Rudhra (Anurag Kashyap) theme music for nearly two months", said Hiphop Tamizha Adhi.
