Music: Santhosh Narayanan
Lyrics: Muthamizh, Vivek
Direction: Sudha Kongara

Album Analysis:

Ei Sandakaara
Singers: Dhee
‘Ei Sandakaara’ probably would go down as the best track of this album. Santhosh opens this album in typical fashion with an unconventional voice to start off the rendition. The song does give you the usual Santhosh Narayanan template but is highly enjoyable. The lyrics are wonderfully written and the minimal arrangements work in favour towards the tune. The accompanying violin arrangements are the highlight of this track.

Maya  Visai
Singers: Santhosh Narayanan, Vijay Narain, Sri Shyamalangan
‘Maya Visai’ passes muster as one of those montage training songs which you would associate with such inspirational sports movies. The guitar jammed portions elevate the song. Might work more with the visuals!

Vaa Machaney
Singers: Sean Roldan
Vaa Machaney’ is absolute fun all the way! Sean Roldan’s fragile rendition makes the song even more appealing with low key arrangements. The tune is highly peppy & makes one foot-tapping. The acoustic guitar background is impressive too.

Usuru Narambula
Singers: Dhee
Santhosh is in his prime ‘Cuckoo’ form here! What really works in this track is the mood the composition tries to create. The mild piano overtones, Dhee’s vocals & plenty of natural sounds in the background give rise to a pathos atmosphere that works mighty well for the song. Pretty emotional composition!

Poda Poda
Singers: Pradeep
‘Poda Poda’ is a tune that could work in the Hindi version of the movie as the tune has a tinge of that flavour. Pradeep, who sounds similar to Shankar Mahadevan does a neat job. But, this is a visual oriented track that supposedly will take the story forward.

On the whole, Santhosh Narayanan sticks to his tendency to make unconventional singers render & it has paid off in Irudhi Suttru where Dhee has stuck gold in both her songs. Although the stamp of Santhosh’s template is visible in most places, it doesn’t hinder the listening experience. Go for this album!
