Can Saroj Kumar ensure a hit?

The recently released Padmashree Bharath Dr Saroj Kumar is perhaps the unofficial sequel to the 2005 hit, Udayananu Thaaram.

Ever since the movie got released, there were controversies all around.

The film didn’t excite most of the viewers and the general feeling was that writer and lead actor Sreenivasan had targeted Mohanlal a bit too much.

The superstar was mocked for the Colonel rank, the IT raid and even for his paunch.

The first to respond to the issue was Mohanlal’s confidant Antony Perumbavoor. He reportedly threatened cinematographer S Kumar of dire consequences for supporting the venture.

Of late, the names of the director, Sajin Raghavan, and cinematographer S Kumar have been removed from the posters.

Producer Vyshakha Rajan says that the two had delayed the shooting a lot, which meant extra days of shooting and the budget exceeded at least by Rs.85 lakhs.

Now, Sajin Raghavan replied to the charges in a press conference, during which he was vocal against the producer and was wondering why he didn’t complain about the delay, during the shooting.

The unending controversies are said to be aimed at keeping the movie in hot news, as the response to the movie has been really cold from the viewers.
