From a village girl to a murderess to our very own 'Desi Girl', Priyanka Chopra has played it all. But she feels Jhilmil, the autistic girl in Barfi, is the most lovable character she has ever played.
"I thought Jhilmil would be difficult. Initially, it was difficult," said Priyanka. "But now my heart is with Jhilmil", Priyanka hopes she's lived up to director Anurag Basu's vision.
"It is a very special character and I hope you like it. It is my most endearing character," she said at Barfi's recent trailer launch.
According to Priyanka, with Barfi, the myth that disabled people live a depressing life will be dispelled.
"When we meet differently-abled people, we always think they live a dark, sorrowful life. But this is not a film about that," she said.
"They also smile, laugh, fall in love, and enjoy themselves. I don't think, after a while you will remember that these characters have disability," she said.
Priyanka will star in Barfi along with Ranbir Kapoor, who plays a fun-loving deaf and mute boy.
