Ajit’s Lingusamy directed Ji has started sliding after three days thundering “opening” all over Tamilnadu. As such Ajit fans are not liking the film, as they say: “It is too preachy and there are very limited mass elements in the film”.
Two days after the release director Lingusamy edited 1350 feet (17 Minutes) of the film in the second half as people complained about the length of the film. Says Lingu: “We have trimmed it down to make the film more racy”.
Though Ajit rates Ji as his career best performance, his equation with close friend and producer of all his films Nic Arts Chakravarthy is at an all time low. The actor feels that Ji should have released before Attagasam and the film lacks good promotion.
In places like Erode, Dindigul, Tirunelvelu and other parts of Tamilnadu, Ji has collapsed at the box-office and the trade feels it is far below Attagasam an average grosser in terms of collection.
Ajit lives up to his trade reputation as the “King of Opening” but a “Pauper in the long run”.
