Jiiva to play Krishnamachari Srikanth's role in 1983 World Cup

Jiiva has confirmed that he will be playing Krishnamachari Srikkanth role in the Hindi film ‘1983 World Cup’. The actor has already started preparing for his role in the film and cricketer Chandu is training him in Chennai. An important schedule of the film will begin in London and the entire team will be camping there for 100 days.

Ranveer Singh plays Kapil Dev’s role in the film which is scheduled to release on August 30, 2019. Directed by Kabir Khan, Reliance Entertainment and Vibri Media are jointly producing the film.

Jiiva says that 1983 World Cup will be a multi-starrer which is being made at a whopping budget of 100 crore rupees. Jiiva will begin shooting for the film in May. Other than 1983 World Cup, Jiiva also has Gypsy and an untitled film with Arulnithi in the pipeline.
