The controversy over the boycott of the National film awards ceremony refuses to end. In fact, the issue is getting serious as more and more comments are appearing from certain known names both in support and against the boycott.
Actor and director Joy Mathew’s Facebook post mocking those who stayed away from the awards ceremony has been widely discussed. “Why are those who are making films for awards hesitant to receive it, regardless of whoever is giving them,” he asks.
Actor Hareesh Peradi has expressed his support for Yesudas and Jayaraj who received the award. He asks why should those who queue up for awards before channel owners have an issue now?
Actor and director Santhosh Pandit also joins the group saying he would have received the award if it was given to him even by a Panchayat member.
