In an interview with a news channel, actor Joy Mathew has criticized the actors’ association AMMA’s stance in the actress’ kidnapping issue.
What we usually see is that AMMA dictates terms to the members and not listening to the members, he says.
Joy said that soon after the actress’ kidnapping incident he had sent a mail to all the members expressing the need to support her. But no one cared to respond.
“I had gone for the AMMA General Body this time expecting that the issue will be raised. But if I had raised it, I am sure I would be sidelined like Thilakan in the past”, says Joy.
Joy Mathew also mentioned about how Ganesh Kumar switched sides when it really mattered. “I didn’t even know him well but he told me that we will raise the issue at the AMMA meeting. But during the meeting he was vehemently supporting AMMA. So I decided to be tactful in these issues,” says the actor, who has directed the film Shutter.
