As soon as the makers of Thala Ajith’s Vivegam confirmed that the film has been pushed from August 10 to August 24, several Tamil films are now eyeing the long Independence Day weekend.

Sources say that Jyothika’s long awaited Magalir Mattum will be releasing on August 10 and the film’s US distributors ATMUS Entertainment has confirmed it on their official Twitter handle. Udhayanidhi’s Podhuvaaga Emmanasu Thangam is said to be planning to hit the screens on August 11 along with Ram’s romantic drama Taramani starring Andrea and newcomer Vasanth Ravi.

Other than these three films, producers of Sundeep Kishan’s Maayavan, Rana Daggubati’s Naan Aanayitaal, Sibiraj’s Sathya, Viddharth’s Kurangu Bommai and a small film Thappu Thanda are also aiming to release their films on August 10 or 11.

But in reality, theaters in Tamil Nadu can’t accommodate more than three mid budget films so we should wait and see, how the respective teams are going to reschedule their release plans.
