It is the biggest development in the Kannada film industry in the recent times. Ace director K V Raju has returned to direction after a gap of 10 years.

Big-budget multi-starrer film Rajadhani will now be directed by Raju as its director Raghu has been shown the doors by lady producer Sowmya Sathyan.

According to Sandalwood sources, Raghu is accused of financial misappropriation following which the producer lodged a complaint with the Karnataka Film Chambers of Commerce (KFCC).

Following Raghu’s exit, veteran director K V Raju has stepped into shoot the remaining portions and reshoot some major portions of Rajadhani. Sources said the producer obtained the No Objection Certificate from Raghu before handing over the project to K V Raju.

The development has created a sensation in the Kannada film industry as Raju, who directed several hit films in the 80s and 90s, did not direct any film in the last one decade as he reportedly did not find any interesting project.

Raju had directed blockbusters Belli Modagalu, Kadana, Indrajeeth, Bandha Mukta, Belli Kalungoora, Yuddha Kaanda and Huliya. He has worked with all the top actors of Kannada film industry.

He even ventured into Hindi to direct Amitabh Bachchan’s film Indrajeeth. He directed two other Hindi films. Kannada film stars have always been keen to work in his films.

However, he stayed away from direction to become a popular dialogue writer. Known for his realistic and powerful dialogue, Raju is in hot demand in Kannada film industry. According to sources, Raju agreed to direct and reshoot some portions of Rajadhani owing to the producer’s goodwill. The lady producer who has written the story and screenplay for Rajadhani has also directed a few scenes. The movie produced under the banner Shri Dheviramma Enterprises has young stars Yash, Chetan Chandra, Satya and Ravi Teja in the lead. Prakash Raj and item dancer Mumaith Khan have appeared in special roles in the film. Ace cinematographer Venu has handled the camera. The dances are choreographed by Gayathri Raghuram, Harsha and Murali. With the movie now under Raju, the producer is taking no chances. The music composed by Arjun is a big hit.
