Filmmaker Subhash Ghai, who is on the lookout for a fresh face to play the title role in his new directorial "Kaanchi", is sure the movie will turn its actress into a superstar.
"After going through the whole script of 'Kaanchi' now, we all are very sure that any girl who shall play this role of 'Kaanchi' will be a superstar overnight after the release of film," Ghai said in a statement.
The woman−oriented movie is his best script ever, says Ghai, who is credited with films like "Karma", "Ram Lakhan", "Saudagar", "Khalnayak" and "Taal".
"This is the best script of mine so far, with so much passion, energy and drama of today. A wholesome entertainer for masses and classes both! I am too excited to start my film, but I am waiting for that lucky girl who will play Kaanchi," added the 67−year−old.
The film, which features veterans like Rishi Kapoor and Mithun Chakraborty, is a based on a love story of a young, beautiful girl from northern mountains, who fights against power.
For the role, Ghai is on the lookout for a sporty girl of medium height, and aged between 19 to 21. She should be fair, an extrovert and vocal by nature. The training will be taken care of, says the filmmaker.
Once the final cast is locked, "Kaanchi" will go on floors in the first quarter of 2013.
