At last Kajal Aggarwal has a hit in Kollywood.
Her Vijay starrer Thuppakki is all set to be this year’s biggest grosser. Kajal who was considered jinxed in Tamil was on the lookout for a hit in Tamil, and she has hit the bulls eye with Thuppakki.
Kajal is one of the most successful heroines in Telugu with a series of hits (Maghadheera, Brindavanam, Businessman). And her Hindi debut film with Ajay Devgan Singham too went on to become a blockbuster.
However, in Tamil Kajal films were either flops or average at the box-office. Her early Tamil films Pazhani, Modi Vilayadu and Bomallatam were colossal flops and she was written off. But she made a comeback of sorts with Karthi’s Naan Maahan Alla, which turned out to be an average grosser.
Kajal’s big ticket to stardom in Tamil was Suriya’s Maattrraan and Vijay’s Thuppakki. While Maattrraan turned to be an average grosser, Thuppakki was right on target at the box-office. Kajal is now Karthi’s heroine in Rajesh’s All in all Raja and is also likely to sign another big film in December.
Meanwhile, Kajal has an impressive line-up of releases coming up. Next February she has A Wednesday fame Neeraj Pandey’s Akshay Kumar thriller Special Chabbis. In Telugu she has movies with all big stars like NTR`s Baadshaah, Ram Charan’s Naayak, Ravi Teja’s Sarocharu etc.
Now with Kajal breaking the jinx in Kollywood, she has turned red hot in south cinema. Kajal is definitely riding a wave!
