When the ruling ADMK Government demanded the controversial scene where director AR Murugadoss throws the freebies of the Government on fire should be removed in Sarkar, Kamal Haasan condemned that a film cleared by censors should have a free run in theaters.
Now, the ADMK Government has filed a case against AR Murugadoss, demanding him to give a guarantee that he will not criticize the Government policies in future. The ruling Government also wants an apology from the director.
Supporting AR Murugadoss and team Sarkar, actor turned politician Kamal Haasan tweeted "Sarkar has been certified by CBFC. Yet Government dares to muffle the right of people to express. This is not democracy. Fascism was defeated before, will be done again. @ARMurugadoss".
Meanwhile, Sarkar has almost finished the theatrical run and it crossed more than 250 cr rupees at the box office.
