Chat Live with Sona from 12pm IST on Tuesday, Nov 23

Sona is drawing all the stares.  A sex-symbol, her style is often characterized as 'hot'. Sona's style is uniquely her own. That states the reason why she owns Uniq the designer store in Chennai.

And now Sona has turned producer with her Uniq productions Kanimozhi made along with Amma Creations. The film stars Jai and Bollywood heroine Shazahn Padamsee and releases on Nov 26th. We catch up with Sona to find out what the hype is all about and her stint as producer

What is Kanimozhi  all about?
It is a feel good film that will touch everyone. It is for all ages and a complete family film. Even women with kids will look back with nostalgia after seeing the film. It's a love story told very differently.
the concept of the film is 'take life positively'.

How did you sign up Shahzahn?
We saw her in an ad, when we were searching for an appealing and angelic face. She fitted the bill completely and we approached her. Only later we knew she acted in Rocket Singh. She too jumped at the offer on hearing the script. So it was a win win situation.

What made you choose Jai?
We wanted someone young and yet well known, but not a new face. He fits the bill. This film will take him to the next level.

Why did you decided to turn producer?
Well ,I was getting the same type of glam roles and I wanted to do something different that would also take me to the next level.
When the offer to make this film with T Siva came along, I grabbed it. He has loads of experience in film industry and is  a well respected name. So it was wonderful to team up with him for my first production.

Are you going to continue acting?
Yes, that will continue depending on the roles that excite me. Right now I am doing a guest appearance in Ko, directed by KV Anand. I play an actor in the film.

How tough is it being a woman producer?
It is not easy but since I have been around in the industry for long I know a little about how things work. So that makes it easier I guess.
It all depends on how you handle people and situations.

What are your future plans?
I have 2010 Bhagyaraj, another production in the pipeline. It is getting delayed, but lets see how things go before I decide on my next project.
