Kannada Box-Office -March

In the month of March what was expected to churn out good results in the box office did not happen.

On Feb 27, the big budget ‘Nam Yajamanru’ starring Dr.Vishnuvardhana, Navya Nair, Vijaya Raghavendra, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy aimed at the family audience bombed miserably.

It was a big disaster and noted director TS Nagabharana and Dr.Vishnu joining together after 28 years could not get the investment back for the producer Smt.Rajakumari Rajasekhar.

The action based Kannada films made big news in the month of March 2009. The first week collection of Sudeep in double role ‘Yee Shathamanadha Veera Madhakari’ and Malashri in double role ‘Kiran Bedi’ earned very good opening.

The films are still going steady in the box office. Both the films had the same subject yet Sudeep and Malashri image counted a lot. ‘Yee Shathamanadha Veera Madhakari’ remake of Telugu flick ‘Vikramarkudu’ has earned the investment and the producer Dinesh Gandhi is in profit.

Ramu Enterprises 25th film ‘Kannadadha Kiran Bedi’ a full length action film in which Malashri played double role is also quite impressive in the box office.

The first week release of March ‘Rajakumari’ was average from the beginning and it did not create big magic despite the presence of V.Ravichandran, Balaji with heroines like Nikitha, Kanniha and Ramanithu Chaudhary.

The rest of the three releases of the March month — Anjadhiru a remake of ‘Anjadhai’, ‘Shankara Punyakoti’ and Kashinath son Alok and Rani starring ‘Baaji’ failed to click for lack of good subjects.
