Actor Karthi whose last few movies have met with mixed response at the box office is confident about his upcoming movie Madras. In an interview to a Tamil publication he has owned up to his mistakes, of doing All In All Azhagu Raja, a comedy role that did not suit him.
Karthi’s is happy about the Pa Ranjith directed Madras, a gritty action drama set in North Chennai’s low income neighbourhoods. The audio of the film is expected to be launched on June 23 and film is slated for a July 25 release.
In Madras Karthi plays a character called Kaali, a typical North Chennai youth. Catherine Tresa who has done some movies in Telugu is debuting in Tamil with this film. Karthi liked the way his character is portrayed in a realistic manner without making any commercial compromises.
Karthi who had to learn the lingo of North Chennai and who observed people living there before the start of the shoot is said to have delivered one of his career best performance according to the people who have seen the rushes of Madras.
