Keira Knightley has refused to star in the West End musical version of 'Bend It Like Beckham' saying that her voice is not strong enough for the role.
Knightley was so keen to star as Eliza Doolittle in a planned remake of the film 'My Fair Lady' that she took singing lessons before her auditions. However, the role was offered to Carey Mulligan.
Now when she has the opportunity to prove herself, Knightley says her confidence in her voice is so low that she would turn down a part in the proposed musical version of the film, which made her name.
"I really enjoy musicals, but I have no plans of being in one," she told Mandrake at the gala premiere of 'A Dangerous Method' at the May Fair hotel in London.
"My voice isn't strong enough, for a start. Am I going to perform in it? No chance. Let's just say, I'm not a musical theatre type of girl," she added. (ANI)
