When the Karnataka Bulldozers played like real heroes, the strikers from Kerala became mere spectators.

Well, its game over for the ‘Kerala Strikers’ team, owned by Priyadarsan and his wife Lizy and captained by Mohanlal), in this year’s Celebrity Cricket League (CCL).

The Kerala team failed to enter the semi finals. The highlight for the team was the consistent performance by Rajiv Pillai, with the willow.

Though there was nothing much for the Kerala team to cheer about this year, there were enough controversies that hit the headlines, in true filmi style.

In fact, young hero Asif Ali’s refusal to pick up the phone and inform his unavailability has been regarded as a serious offence.

The actors’ association AMMA has announced to take some action against the young star.

Now, it is surprising that virtually no one has dared to think on how much harm has the Celebrity Cricket League done to the shooting schedules of certain films?

Perhaps with some of the big names in Malayalam cinema involved in the cricket show, almost everyone has preferred to keep silent. But if the industry insiders are to be believed, not everyone is happy about the state of things.

There has reportedly been certain change in schedules and postponements of shootings, which could definitely mean the projects exceeding the expected budget.

The film organizations, who were really strict on star studded programmes being aired on TV channels at the risk of overexposure are yet to comment on the issue.

Anyway, with the team returning home after the league matches, it is sure that some producers should be heaving a sigh of relief and will be hoping that the schedules will start normal soon.
