Superstar Rajinikanth’s Kochadaiiyaan directed by his daughter, Soundarya Rajinikanth Ashwin is finally gearing up for a Pongal 2014 release. The film is made on a budget of over Rs.100 crore.
Kochadaiiyaan is jointly produced by Eros International and Media One Global Entertainment. The audio of the film which has music by AR Rahman is to be released in the second week of December, most likely on the superstar’s birthday on December 12.
Dr Murali Manohar of Media One Global Entertainment and co-producer of the film told sify.com: “We have completed all creative components of the film. The final work of rendering and compositing is going on. We will launch the audio in December and promotions will kickstart immediately. We are looking at a January release and trying our best to bring it out by Pongal.”
The film stars Rajinikanth in a dual role. Deepika Padukone plays the female lead along with Jackie Shroff, Sarath Kumar, Shobana, Aadi and Nassar. Kochadaiiyaan is touted to be India's first motion capture technology film being made along the lines of Hollywood films like 'Avatar' and 'Tintin'.
As per trade sources, Dr Murali Manohar has called up all leading theatres and multiplexes and requested them to block January 10 for Kochadaiiyaan release.
