Kodathi Samakshan Balan Vakeel
Dileep, Mamta Mohandas
Director Unnikrishnan B’s Kodathi Samaksham Balan Vakeel is about a lawyer, who is facing stammering problem and is regarded as a failure even by his family and friends.
Balakrishnan (Dileep), a junior advocate, appears for a client named Ansar Ali Khan (Aju Varghese) and to the surprise of all, succeeds in getting him a bail. Ansar finds him a room in a colony and the initial portions of the story is set there, conveniently, to squeeze in comedy and even an item dance.
The story takes an unprecedented turn when Balakrishnan sends a lawyer’s notice to the state police chief, on behalf of a lady who has some serious sexual allegations against the top cop.
Some big twists later Balan meets Anuradha Sudarshan (Mamta Mohandas), who has lost her father in mysterious circumstances.
The lawyer looks like a meek person mostly, but there are some suggestions to show that he is actually a brilliant guy with extra ordinary investigating skills. That he is the hero is reminded in regular intervals and then suddenly, he comes out of his docile pose.
With quite a number of turnarounds, there is an attempt to bring in surprises but it is mostly predictable. The script is shaky and has too many loose ends.
There is one scene where a stoned Sidhique, who is the hero’s dad, saying some suggestive dialogues to his on screen wife in the presence of their grown up son before the two going inside possibly to their bedroom. You call that comedy?
Dileep performs his character in a dedicated manner and the actor should be appreciated for performing the stammering scenes in a convincing manner. Mamta Mohandas is impressive in her role as Anuradha, while Priya Anand is wasted in an inconsequential role. Aju Varghese scores at times, with his witty mannerisms.
Kodathi Samaksham Balan Vakeel ends up as an okay one time watch, packaged for those who don’t need much to be thrilled. It has essentially been made for the fans of Dileep as he is back in action with some comedy and some heavy duty heroics.

#KodathiSamakshamBalanVakeel Interval : After a shaky start, the film builds well on an engaging plot with ample mix of fun and thrills.Dileep at his best. So far so good.

#Villan was a movie that marked brilliance of @unnikrishnanb as a director. Marching ahead, in #KodathiSamakshamBalanVakeel , he fails to bring that inventiveness as a director. A story that have all possible chances to become a watchable thriller ends up as an average product...

#KodathiSamakshamBalanVakeel That said Dileep is in top form with the character and Mamta complemented him very well.Siddique was yet another pick for me but the same cannot be said about rest of the cast.
