All the big films which are due for release in 2012, are running late by months!
This year is supposed to be the year of the biggies with all top stars including Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan having releases.
But all of them are getting delayed due to various factors mainly the on-going stand off between TFPC and FEFSI, which is getting murkier by the day. And with no end to the 'unofficial strike', films are getting indefenitely delayed.
For example Dhanush's 3 which was to release for Pongal is now releasing on March 30. Udhayanidhi Stalin's debut film as hero OKOK which was to be a Valentine week release is likely to release on April 6. Similarly Ajith's Billa 2 was announced as a Tamil New Year (April 13) release, but now it looks like a May end/June release.
Suriya's Maatraan which was supposed to release in April will be lucky if it hits the theatres by June end. Karthi's Saguni originally slated as a Pongal release was postponed to April 13, though now the latest we hear is that the film is being reshot!
Rajinikanth's Kochadiyaan which was announced as a Independence Day (August 15) release has been pushed to Diwali, with the superstar himself announcing the new release date. Kamal Haasan's Viswaroopam initally another film targeting the summer holidays may now come by July.
In case of small movies too the release dates keep on changing. A film like Vazhakku En 18/9, has been in the box waiting for release. No producer big or small can stick to his release date, irrespective of the budget of the film.
