Will the 32 day old unoffical strike in Kollywood come to an end today (Feb 24) ?
The strike has crippled the industry as there was no shooting in Tamil Nadu for the last one month.
The final joint meeting between Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) and Film Employees Federation of south India (FEFSI) over wage revision has started around 12.30pm at the state governments Labour department office.
There have been many 'peace talks to resolve the deadlock', but today's meeting is likely to solve the issue.
The differences between TFPC and FEFSI has narrowed down and both sides want an amicable settlement. Both sides have agreed on the "21 demands" of FEFSI, with some changes demanded by TFPC.
Today evening the strike is likely to be called off. Shooting may resume from tomorrow (Feb 25). Half a dozen big movies and nearly 35 small movies are waiting for the strike to be called off so that they can shoot in Chennai.
