But debutant Feroz denies such allegations, Here, a lot of directors dont really give credits to the films which inspired them but I can assure that Pandigai has nothing to do with Fight Club. Other than the street fighting angle, Pandigai also has a strong emotional quotient.
The film is all about a young man (Kreshna), who was refused all basic needs from his childhood, which forced him to make big money through the street fight. Saravanan plays a fifty-five-year-old gambler named Muni. Friendship, betrayal and emotional bond between Kreshna and Saravanan accelerate the screenplay, says the director.
Pandigai also has 'Kayal' Anandhi playing Kreshnas romantic interest. We wanted someone to play the innocent heroine and local features were a must, so roped in Anandhi, her character actually changes the motive of Kreshna in the film, explains Feroz.
Produced by Ferozs wife Vijayalakshmi, Pandigai is all set to release on July 14.
