Legendary Actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao is no more. ANR as he is popularly called passed away earlier this morning around 2:45am in Hyderabad. He was suffering from Cancer for the last few months.

His condition worsened after mid-night and was taken to Care Hospital in Hyderabad and he breathed his last in an hour or so after getting admitted. He was 91.

He is survived by three daughters and two sons. He was born on September 20th in AP. His first movie Dharmapatni was released in 1941. He acted in nearly 246 films mostly in Telugu and a few in Tamil and Hindi. He along with late NTR were the two pillars of Telugu Film Industry.

Popular Actor Nagarjuna is his son. ANR garu was acting with rest of the Akkineni family’s younger generation Actors in Manam. He has won several awards including the Prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Award.
