Suriya's KV Anand directed Maattrraan after getting a U certificate from the censors is scheduled to release on October 12.
The producers and Anand has taken a decision to keep the 'curiosity factor' surrounding the film on a high. They have decided not to come out with a regular theatrical trailer on the eve of the film's release.
KV Anand has tweeted - "Friends, Why do you need a theatrical trailer, when you can see the film in a week? 30 seconds teaser is already on TV channels." It is a smart move by Anand as he will be able to keep the "surprise element scenes" in the film alive till it hits the screens.
Recently all big Tamil films had many teasers and theatrical trailers, which led to overexposure. Anand is trying to keep the expectation level of the audiences at a low level, which in a way may work for the film. Maattrraan releasing big in over 1000 screens has a lot riding on it for all concerned.
