Madras High Court has dismissed the plagiarism charges against Kaala and also refused to issue stay order for the tagline ‘Karikaalan’. Earlier a petitioner named Rajashekaran filed a case saying that the title belongs to him and Ranjith lifted the storyline from his work.
On hearing Rajashekaran’s case, Madras HC said that the petitioner doesn’t have enough proof for owning the title and dismissed the plea because the necessary script details were also not furnished.
Directed by Pa Ranjith, Kaala is likely to release for Ramzan weekend and an official announcement will be soon made by the makers. In Kaala, Rajinikanth plays an aged gangster who fights for the rights of Tamil people residing in slums of Mumbai.
