After a dull opening, Satyaraj’s Maha Nadigan has picked up all over Tamilnadu. The low class satire is being enjoyed by the front-benchers as there is a lot of lollu in the film.
On Saturday December 11, Satyaraj held a press conference at Good Luck preview theatre in Chennai along with director Sakthi Chidambaram, where he defended the film against criticism that it took broad swipes at film stars especially superstar Rajnikanth, Vijaykanth and Ajit.
Says Satyaraj: “I had made more biting satires earlier. Maha Nadigan is comparatively soft as it shows the machinations in tinsel world. Nobody has complained as everyone has taken the film in sportive spirit”.
Satyaraj also added that the film is a hit as it was made on a shoe-string budget and sold to distributors at very low prices, which they will recover in the first week itself. He also said that since there was no opposition this week it has worked to the advantage of the film.
