The muhurat of Male Barali, Manju Irali directed and produced by Vijayalakshmi Singh and shot under the banner of Dakshat Combines, was done at Channamma Junior College in Madapura taluk of Kushalnagar in Coorg district.
M.P. Appachu Ranjan, Madikeri MLA, clapped the board and former president of Kodagu Zilla Panchayat K.P. Chandrakala switched on the camera. This is the second film being directed and produced by Vijayalakshmi Singh after Ee Bandhana.. Addressing presspersons, Jai Jagadish, actor/director and husband of Vijayalakshmi Singh said that Male Barali, Manju Irali is a love story set in a coffee plantation in Kodagu.
Mrs Singh said that she has the same technicians who had worked with her in her first fil and her husband is playing a supporting role in the film. On the title of the film, she said that she was inspired by a newspaper headline recently and decided to go ahead with it.
‘Mukhyamantri’ Chandru and Hema Chaudhary will play the roles of coffee plantation owners. Sringar Kitty is the hero while Parvathi Menon is the heroine. Nagkiran, Lakshman, Umashree and Sadhu Kokila are also in the cast. The film will be ready for release in December and is being shot at a cost of Rs. 2.5 crore.
