Has Mammootty’s latest release The Great Father beaten the first day gross collection record of Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan and Rajnikant’s Kabali?
Though most of the people in Kerala trade feel it is quite unlikely that it did, considering the number of shows, producer Prithviraj announced that the first day collection of The Great Father was Rs. 4.31 crores.
Mammootty posted that The Great Father is the fastest 20 crores collected movie ever.
Here is his post: “I want to thank each and every one of you in making the Great Father such a huge success! It's broken the first day opening collection record, the fastest 20 crores collection to date and all of this with a relatively modest 6 crores budget and made by a first time director. This is a celebration and an eye opener to the size and power of the Malayalam audience like no other ! Here is wishing for our industry to continue growing bigger and better so we can make even better and bolder films!!”
This collection propaganda has started a fierce battle between the fans of the veteran superstars. Mohanlal camp has been working overtime to prove this claim of their rival, wrong.
Now Mohanlal’s fans are planning another idea. On March 7, when Mohanlal’s 1971: Beyond Borders releases there will be fans’ shows all over and the superstar’s followers want to break the collections record!
Now there is news that Mammootty’s fans are arranging fans shows of The Great father for their groups on the same day!
But sadly, none of these fans are making claims about the merit or commenting on the scathing reviews given both in local and National media on their idol’s film and are only bothered about collection records!
