AR Rahman and Mani Ratnam are one of the longest running music director-filmmaker combo, who have always produced hit music. Right from Rahman’s debut with Mani’s Roja, the pair has struck together for nearly 20 years.
Mani and Rahman is now back with Kadal, the director's new film. Recently Rahman, flew down to Thuthukudi and from there motored down to Kadal location near coastal areas of Tiruchendur to have a discussion on the songs for the film.

It is the launch pad of Gautham son of popular romantic hero of 80’s Karthik.Remember it was Mani Ratnam who made Karthik popular as a romantic hero with films like Mounaragam and Agninakshtram?
Kadal will also see the comeback of Roja fame Aravind Swamy who has been keeping away from the arc lights for a few years. Samantha is the heroine and the supporting cast includes Pasupathy, Lal, Thambi Ramaiah and Lakshmi Manchu.
