Vishal has always managed to rope exciting character artists to do the bad man’s role in  his films.

Remember Kannada superstar Upendra in Sathyam, Sayaji Shinde in Vedi and now he has managed to rope in Manoj Bajpayee as antagonist in his latest film Samaran.

Samaran is another mass commercial entertainer directed by Thiru, who had earlier made Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai with Vishal.

The film was also in the news when Trisha and Telugu actor JD Chakravarthy agreed to do the film with Prakash Raj originally slotted to play the bad man.

But due to certain dates issue Prakash backed out and Vishal was able to convince Manoj Bajpayee to step in to the project. Samaran  has Yuvan Shankar Raja as music director and Richard M Nathan as cinematographer.

The unit is currently in Bangkok canning some important scenes. Earlier they had shot in exotic lush forest locations in Chalakudy in Kerala. Samaran has Vishal playing a forest guard.
