When all and sundry are launching their sons, nothing wrong for fight master FEFSI Vijayan to launch his son Sabarish as an action hero.

Vijayan had Salman Khan coming in a chartered flight for the audio launch of Sabarish?s debut film Markandeyan.

Vijayan had everything going for his son?s launch except a script! The film written and directed by Vijayan looks disjointed. Characters in the first half including Santhanam disappear in the second half. The only silverlining and the director?s forte is the superbly choreographed action scenes.

Markendyan aka Mark (Sabarish) an orphan is brought up by Varada (Sri Hari) a local dawn. He specialises in adopting boys and putting them in both sides of the law, and cashing in on it for his nefarious activities.

Suddenly, the scene shifts to a forest where an unconscious Sabarish is brought back to life by a few tribal?s dealing in bamboo smuggling. The gang gets muscle power thanks to Mark who has lost his memory.

One day Mark is forced to go the town trying to hospitalise a sick tribal girl. Some rowdies recognise him and fight ensues. It seems his mentor Varada is now baying for his blood.

The reasons are told in a haphazard manner. The flashback and the climax is very weak.

Why did Santhanam do the role of a tribal and a drunkard? Pinky and Nivedita are there for glamour. Sabarish is good in action scenes. Music of Sundar C babu is nothing much to talk about.

Verdict- Disappointing
