Bharat Bala directed Dhanush’s Maryan produced by Aascar Films has been finally censored on Monday (June 24) evening. The film has been certified with a UA certificate for its theme and some violence in the climax.

Maryan has Dhanush and Parvathi in the lead with music by AR Rahman which has become a chartbuster. It has cinematography by Marc Koninckx. The film revolves around a story of human survival adapted from a newspaper article of a real-life crisis event, when three oil workers from India were kidnapped and taken hostage in Sudan by mercenaries.

The buzz is that Aascar Ravichandran is not happy with the UA certificate, as it denies the film entertainment tax exemption. So Ravichandran and director Bharat Bala are trying to convince the censors for a U certificate. They may even go to the revising committee.

Meanwhile Ravichandran has informed the trade that Maryan will release on June 27 worldwide. It gives the film a 10 day window before Ramzan fasting period starts on July 8.
