Dhanush’s Bharatbala directed Maryan produced by Aascar Ravichandran is slated for release on July 19. But promotions for the film are low key.
The visibility across the medium is hazy, and most of people do not know it is hitting the screens this Friday.
The producer believes that the content will speak and there is no need to hype it unnecessarily. The idea is that word-of-mouth after release may work better than any pre-release promotions.
Maryan- A sify special
In fact Dhanush’s Raanjhanaa dubbing into Tamil Ambikapathy had more promotions than Maryan! The print ads are small and appeared in English newspapers only from Monday, four days before release.
Dhanush is giving a daily countdown on the film’s release on Twitter. He himself is tweeting release ad posters with theatre listings for areas in Tamil Nadu. In his own way the actor is trying his best to promote the film.
The actor tweeted: “I don’t know what to promise in Maryan. But I know the visuals will excite you guys. It will be something very new. Hope u guys feel the same on July 19.”
