The audio launch of  debut producer Kannan’s Mathil Mel Poonai was held at a leading multiplex this morning.

As one of the guests, director Badri remarked, teachers day seemed to have been turned into friendship day thanks to the film’s hero Vijay Vasanth. Vijay is turning solo hero with this film and to support him, his entire debut film Chennai 28 team of actor and techie friends had turned up, giving the event an informal and warm feeling.

The film has already garnered attention due to the fact that STR has sung a Chennai anthem track called ‘ vandhaaru vaazha vaikkum ooru’ which has become the rage already.

The trailer and a love song ( oru poo pookirathu) were shown while one song by lyricist Thamarai (Rathathathin…) was played only on the audio track. The entire trailer has been shot in reverse shots and gave a different feel to this thriller.

The film also stars Vibha, who has debuted earlier with Vijay Antony’s Naan. The film’s music is by Renigunta fame Ganesh Raghavendra while LK Vijay of Kulir 100 degree fame handles the camera. The film is the debut venture of director Barani Jayapal who has assisted Badri earlier.

The entire team of actor friendsand the Kollywood celebs gathered, released the audio, after coming on stage to say a few words about him one by one, in a departure from the usual proceedings at such functions.

The guest list included Aadhi, Mirchi Siva, Nithin Satya, Premgi  Amaren, Sakti Saravanan, Arun Vijay, T Siva, Vaibhav Reddy, Ajaikumar, SA Chandrasekar and PL Thenappan, Pa Renjith, SR Prabhu  amongst others.
