Is it right to ban Vishwaroopam?

Kamal Haasan's ambitious Vishwaroopam has run into trouble again. Slapped with a 15-day ban in Tamil Nadu on the basis that it portrays Muslims in an unfair manner, the film's release has been further delayed.

What do you think will be the impact of this ban on the film?

Apart from any other valid reasons this ban am afraid has set a precedence for other groups to stage protest against freedom of expression. It might have opened up a pandora's box

Why can't illogical movies like Pokkiri or Alex Pandian get banned since they insult the intelligence of Indians?
Why can't crude movies that objectify women and zoom in on gyrating hips and cleavage be banned because they denigrate Indian culture?
I am not a fan of Kamal Hassan, but this is unfair. If we do not allow artistic freedom and eccentricity even in 2013, India will pay heavily.

Yes it is right to ban Viswaroopam. Earlier there were strong protest from from Muslims and the agitation ended in violence near American consulate against the film Innocence of muslims which was not even about to be relaeased in India. DAM 999 was banned because it was thought to hurt sentiments of tamilnadu. On the same way Banning Viswa roopam was a ncessary decision.

There is nothing wrong to ban the film. As Kamal sir has put up a disclaimer stating that its all about the current affairs that were goign on about the terrorism. I don't think there is any scene where they could point and say that it is hindering their feelings.

of course its not right to ban the movie..its not kamal's fiction. such stories happens in the world. it depends on the individual who watches the movie on how they want to take it. a movie should be released after its cleared by the Censors. Govt shouldnt bow down to mere 20 peoples threats!
