Producer Mohan Babu, Vishnu and Brahmanandam were booked on Monday in a criminal case for denigrating the Brahmin community in Denikaina Ready

Following an order from the Secunderabad court, the Malkajgiri police booked cases against Mohan Babu, Vishnu, comedian Brahmanandam and director G Nageshwar Reddy under various sections of Indian Penal Code including Section 120 B (criminal conspiracy), 153 A (promoting enmity between different groups), 295 (defiling place of worship with an intent to insult religion of any class) and 298 (uttering words with deliberate intent to wound the religious feelings of any person).

Various Brahmin organisations such as Andhra Pradesh Brahmin Seva Samakhya, Vasishta Purohits Association and Telangana Brahmana Association formed into a Joint Action Committee of Brahmin associations.

The JAC leaders met Home Minister P Sabita Indra Reddy on Monday and submitted a representation seeking a ban on the controversial film, which they alleged have scenes that denigrate the Brahmin community with a malicious intention.
