The Women in Cinema Collective (WCC) has published a Facebook post in the aftermath of AMMA President Mohanlal’s recent press conference.
“The Press conference held by AMMA President was against our expectations and it was totally disappointing,” says WCC.
They list out the reasons for this.
1.The decision to take the accused back is unethical. It is a concern that those in AMMA did not take into consideration the feeling of the survivor, who was also part of their fold.
2.The statement about she not giving a written complaint against taking away the opportunities at work earlier, is also misleading. There was no such demand to give the complaint in writing, when the issue was conveyed earlier.
3.All four have sent their resignation letters via e mail to AMMA.
4.We have learnt that the discussion about taking back the accused actor was not part of the general body’s agenda.
WCC has however expressed their hopes about the meeting that is being planned with AMMA.
