It's become a norm in film industry for big stars, in an attempt to give that extra boost to their best friend's movies releasing a press statement that they watched the film and it is "awesome'!

In Tamil, the biggest example is Superstar Rajinikanth who endorses all the films that he watches! Most of the production houses after showing their film to the Superstar uses  it as a promotional material. Remember that Poor Rajinikanth had also watched movies like his good friend Lawrence's Motta Siva Ketta Siva and said its "very good" ( what else can he say?)

Now the makers of Nimir showed their film to none other than Mohanlal as this film is a remake of  Malayalam sleeper hit  ‘Maheshinite Prathikaaram’. Mohanlal,  after watching this Udhayanidhi Stalin starrer directed by his best friend Priyadarshan at a special screening, lauded Udhay for his realistic performance and told him that he would be holding a success party after the release!

Darbuka Siva and Ajaneesh are the two music composers of the film, which also has Samuthirakani, MS Baskar, Namitha Pramod and Parvathy Nair in important roles. Besides playing a crucial role in the film, Samuthirakani has also penned the dialogues for Nimir.

The makers of Nimir are planning for a January release. After Nimir, Udhay will start shooting for Seenu Ramasamy’s family entertainer with Tamannaah from January 19 and the producer turned actor will join hands with Irumbu Thirai director Mithran’s cop thriller in mid-2018.
